White Wines of Le Marche

The Verdicchio grape is the most well known grape of the region and ranks amongst one of Italys finest whites.  Other white grapes produced in the region, but to a much lesser degree, are Pecorino, Passerina, Bianchello del Metauro and Falerio which is a blend of Trebbiano, Pecorino and Passerina.

Red Wines of Le Marche

Montepulciano and Sangiovese are the most widely grown red grapes in the region and most red wines consist of one or other of these grapes, if not both.  Despite the dominance of Verdicchio as the most well-known wine, Le Marche makes some very fine red wines including Rosso Piceno and Rosso Conero.
